Hiroshima Food Diary 1 - Station, Airport, Matsuya

Cafe at Hiroshima airport.  : Breakfast set with toast and egg.
Location : Next to check in, departure hall section.

Rating : Neutral. Egg is cold. No matter what, their coffee taste good. 
Hiroshima Airport - Muffin with strawberry fillings with some hard crust outside.
Location : A Counter seems very popular with Japanese.
Rating : I find it so so only. 300Yen. Quite dear.
Hiroshima Station - Bean sprouts ramen and dried ramen Hiroshima style. Understand Hiroshima ramen soup uses the special Hiroshima Ramen soya sauce instead of pork ribs soup. As for the dried noodles, we dip the noodles into the sesame sauce. We can indicate to the waitress on the strength of spiciness you prefer. 
Location : Restaurant located insde ASSE, next to JR station. Ordered. Rating : I like the dried noodles. Very interesting.

Hiroshima town - Wafer with red bean and ice cream
Location : Near Daiwa Roynet Hotel-UCC Coffee House
Came her for coffee break after arriving at the hotel.
Rating : Satisfying treat for both of us.
Matsunoya Tonkatsu, Japan - Pork Tonkatsu.
It is always our must eat food in Japan. When you bite the meat, you teeth will sink into the meat. Pickle are placed next to the table and you can add to your rice. We tried these in Tokyo and immediately fall in love with in. Tried it in Fukuoka, we love the Oyster there.
However, we were very disappointed over here. The food were so oily.
Location : Hondori Area, near Uniqlo and GU is. 

Rating : Very Oily for this branch.

Hiroshima Airport and Limousine Bus

This is the view from the plane when arriving Hiroshima. Mountainous and calm.  The airport is small, surrounded by mountains.  The first thing we landed was to activate our StarHub Happy Card Roaming service. For some reason, we failed to get it activated. It was only when we reach hotel that we realised Airport Wifi is not strong enough to activate the card. We also has issue turning on our wifi as well. As a note, the SilkAir check in counter will only opens at 8.25am for us to check in. (Departure time 10.25). So no point going early.  There is a information counter (immediately when you exit the arrival hall), where we can get transport ticket here too. For Limousine bus ticket to hiroshima, there are ticketing machines next door, behind the bus stop. We only realized it after queuing so long for our ticket and miss a bus. We waited for 1 hour for the next bus. (Their bus schedule will be cut once during off peak) We also realise...

Local Train Yamaguchi

I love these old and reliable train. These Yamaguchi local train travel between Shin Yamaguchi station to Yamaguchi station. (They serve routes after Yamaguchi station but I did not find out as I only need to travel to Yamaguchi station LOL) No signal problem. Train operated by train captain.Do check their train hour. At certain hour, there is only 1 train per hour.  While waiting for my train, I roam around Yamaguchi station area. Above is the Yamaguchi train station. Below : a police station beside the train station. There is also a restaurant in Yamaguchi Train Station.

Hiroshima food diary - Nakau Beef Don

Nakau - Our new found Beef Don in Hiroshima. Located just few steps  away from our Hotel. A good place for late dinner as the shop close late  Our 1st try on 26 Mar 2018, Only 390yen for the beef don, and 220 for the akari and taopok udon. Similar to Matsuya Beef don, taste good at affordable rate. 27 Mar 18, not able to hold our excitement over our new find, we decided to come back again for the beef don and try out the grilled beef. Delicious. We ate these for the next day too The joint served other food like chicken cutlet and sword fish sashimi with rice. But we still feel the beef don is the best. So we have it for the next day again, and decided we should really stop and try other food instead. Yes, next time if I visit Japan, this will be another shop that I will hunt them down for a meal. In addition to Matsuya.
