180325 Akiyoshido Plateau

According to Japanguide.com, The vast lands of the Akiyoshidai Plateau are dotted with limestone pinnacles, presenting a landscape rarely seen in Japan. The plateau was a coral reef an estimated 300 million years ago, and the karst topography that we see today is the result of the gradual dissolution of limestone by rain through the years.
Pay a visit to the Plateau by taking a lift located at centre of Akiyoshido Cave. 
There is a viewing point for visitors. We can walk around to explore too.
This is directly above the cave. All filled with limestones. It is spring. So, the grass has not turn green yet.
This is something not to be missed !!!
Remember to visit when you are at Akiyoshido Cave

Before visiting this place, I wonder why would tourist like to visit this place? After visiting this place, I find it very difficult to accept that so many innocent lives were lost because of greed by one person. Lives were lost in 2nd world war not only in this country, but all over the world. It was quite an emotional place. (Cause I would also imagine what our parents went through during Japanese occupation during these times as well, and innocent lives were sacrificed because of this) Atomic Bomb Dome - Not to be confused. This is not the place where the atomic bomb strike. It was a building left after the whole area was destroyed by the atomic bomb. This is the actual site where the Atomic Bomb drop 600 meters above ground. It is a hospital now. Sakura trees lay next to the river. Its bloom time.  The park is full with Hanami going on. We are shaded by flowers. Can you believe that? The park is near Hondori. Walkable distance.

180327 - Hagi, Yamaguchi

We read so much about Hagi Castle Town and decided to make a visit. The late Shoin's Former Residence. Yoshida Shoin, an important figure from Hagi who inspired revolutionary ideas during the twilight years of Japan's feudal age (mid 1800s). The samurai area was full with old buildings. Its the season of orange. You can see most of the neighbourhood has at least 4 orange plants. All bearing orange fruits. I am so delighted with the Oranges find. ha ha ha It is nice walking the picture-some streets We took a shuttle bus to visit the Hagi Castle Ruins.  The castle is located next to the sea. So we can view the beach. There is a big park full of cherry blossom  The two things we see that represent the castle, the first one,  the moat The 2nd item that represent the castle? Hiroshima food diary - Nakau Beef Don

Nakau - Our new found Beef Don in Hiroshima. Located just few steps  away from our Hotel. A good place for late dinner as the shop close late  Our 1st try on 26 Mar 2018, Only 390yen for the beef don, and 220 for the akari and taopok udon. Similar to Matsuya Beef don, taste good at affordable rate. 27 Mar 18, not able to hold our excitement over our new find, we decided to come back again for the beef don and try out the grilled beef. Delicious. We ate these for the next day too The joint served other food like chicken cutlet and sword fish sashimi with rice. But we still feel the beef don is the best. So we have it for the next day again, and decided we should really stop and try other food instead. Yes, next time if I visit Japan, this will be another shop that I will hunt them down for a meal. In addition to Matsuya.
