180325 Transportation to Akiyoshido, Mine Town from Hiroshima

HIROSHIMA TO AKIYOSHIDO VIA PUBLIC TRANSPORT
 Not sure how you want to do it. Not sure what is the best method, but this is how we do it.
From Daiwa Roynet Hotel, we took a Hiroden  to Hiroshima station. 25 to 30 mins (including waiting time)
This is the first time we took the Hiroden. A kind Japanese boy offered to give us direction  as he saw us checking the signage on which tram goes to Hiroshima station. So nice of him.
From Hiroshima station - We took a Shinkansen. 
Without checking, we jump into the 1st shinkansen that arrive at station heading towards Hakata direction. What we never expect is, different train has different stops. After quite some time, wondering why it took so long to stop at its 1st stop, Iwakuni, we realised the train is already approaching Shin Shimonoseki station. Only then we heard this train is bound to Kagoshima station. We panicked as our JR West pass only covers up to Hakata Station. Only when they announced that they will briefly stop at Hakata station, we have a sign of relief. We have took a express train to Hakata station instead of to Shin Yamaguchi station. We have to take another bullet train to Shin Yamaguchi Station from Hakata.
By right, it only takes 30mins to reach Shin Yamaguchi.
We ended up taking nearly 1 hour 45 mins to reach Shin Yamaguchi station.

From Shin Yamaguchi station, without any effort, we took this Yamaguchi Local Train to Yamaguchi Station.
Yamaguchi station has a Tourist information counter where we can check on information on JR buses. So it is very convenient for us. Though we reach the station at 11plus am, we need to wait for the 12.50pm bus based on their time table.
We enjoyed our 60mins ride from Yamaguchi station. The mountains, the sceenary are beautuful to us. Well, we appreciate these cause we live in a concrete world. 
The JR bus has a panel infront of the bus. You will be able to view which station are you in. However all in Japanese. So it is better to get the Japanese station name before we travel. We just need to ensure the character match and that is our station.

Before visiting this place, I wonder why would tourist like to visit this place? After visiting this place, I find it very difficult to accept that so many innocent lives were lost because of greed by one person. Lives were lost in 2nd world war not only in this country, but all over the world. It was quite an emotional place. (Cause I would also imagine what our parents went through during Japanese occupation during these times as well, and innocent lives were sacrificed because of this) Atomic Bomb Dome - Not to be confused. This is not the place where the atomic bomb strike. It was a building left after the whole area was destroyed by the atomic bomb. This is the actual site where the Atomic Bomb drop 600 meters above ground. It is a hospital now. Sakura trees lay next to the river. Its bloom time.  The park is full with Hanami going on. We are shaded by flowers. Can you believe that? The park is near Hondori. Walkable distance.

180326 Uminonakamichi Seaside Park, Fukuoka

Uminonakamichi Seaside Park measures nearly four kilometers from end to end It is a huge park. Located in the northern side of Fukuoka. It is better to cycle. For us, we like to walk. And we realised it is very huge and get lost a few times. We did not visit the zoo, and the aquarium. Only visited the gardens.  Our intention to visit here is to catch the cherry blossom. We realised we are too early. The canola flowers came as a surprise. The children park here is huge. You can find lots of families with children playing here A few coloured cherry blossom plants The Rose garden. Found 2 roses. LOL Found the cherry trees over another end of the park. Frank buy the canola field. Tulips. So beautiful We were too early for Cherry Blossom. However, we are still able to view tulips, and other flowers. This park is more for families with children. They can let the children play in the big playgrounds. If you love flowers, it is a good place to visit too. Ho

180329 Onomichi, Senkoji Park

Senkoji Park- A view from its top of the mountain. The whole place is set ablaze by the sakura. Just like what all website has said, Onomichi is beautiful during cherry blossom season.  Views over Onomichi and its port Mihara Station and the local JR train.  The crowded ropeway passengers. We queued for at least 30minutes from getting into the lift then to ropeway The view going up the mountain via ropeway I must say, other than the cherry blossom, there is nothing much to see there. Tourist shops will close as early as before 5pm. So, it is good only to visit during hanami time.
